Chinese New Year at the Library

Chinese New Year at the Library

Stop by the University Library to participate in the Chinese New Year festivities! Ensure your fortune and happiness by learning about traditional taboos to be avoided on Chinese New Year. Delight in the ancient art of Chinese writing by trying your hand at Chinese calligraphy. Learn more about your Chinese zodiac sign and what's in store for you over the next year, the Year of the Pig (2019). Put your chopstick skills to the test by racing to place as many jīn yú (goldfish) into your bucket using only chopsticks. Learn about and honor other East Asian Lunar New Year celebrations derived from the Chinese lunisolar calendar: including the Vietnamese, Korean, Mongolian, and Tibetan New Year. Join in the fun and ring in the Year of the Pig at the University Library from 12pm - 3pm!
